Free-For-All

Free-For-All follows the same deck building rules Constructed Format uses.

Welcome to chaos!

Free-For-All is a battle royale, with 3 to 4 players swinging Familiars field to field, and a king of the hill feeling. This Format has altered rules for how Fields, Scoring, Winning and such work, but offers that same smooth Wildhearts Trading Card Game play, just for more people!

Quick Start Setup

  • 2 Familiars (can't be the same Familiar)

If you are playing 3 Player Free-For-All:

  • 2 Fields (can't be the same Field)

If you are playing 4 Player Free-For-All:

  • 1 Field

  • 30 card main deck (includes ally and tamer cards)

  • Up to 2 copies of each unique card in deck

  • 1 8-card Judge Deck (only 1 player needs to have this)

  • (optional) 6 card side deck if playing best of 3

Add the Power and Protection Stone near the Initiative Token. The Power Stone grants +1 Power to a creature of that Players, while the Protection Stone gives a creature of theirs Block.

Free-For-All Changes a few core rules. See below.

Determining Initiative

  • 3 Players

The Player with the lowest combined Familiar Power chooses 1 of their Fields to become the Reserve Field and gains Initiative. Then, each other Player removes 1 of their Fields from the game. The remaining 3 Fields are randomly placed in Fields 1, 2 and 3.

  • 4 Players

The Player with the lowest combined Familiar Power chooses 1 Field to become the Reserve Field and that Fields Owner gains Initiative.

Passing

  • 3 Players

The Player who passes 1st gains Initiative. The Player who passes 2nd gains the Power Stone.

  • 4 Players

The Player who passes 1st gains Initiative. The Player who passes 2nd chooses to gain the Power Stone of the Protection Stone. The Player who passes 3rd gets the last remaining Stone.

Scoring

  • Starting with Field 1, the player with the most Power wins and gains VP equal to its value. The Player with the 2nd most Power gains 1 VP.

  • If any Players are tied for having the most or 2nd most Power, both/all win or gain any VP and effects.

  • Continue this for Fields 2 and 3.
